ShareFor the past 20+ years, Plummer Slade has been located at 428 Forbes Avenue, ‘The Pittsburgher’ (formerly the Lawyers Building), in downtown Pittsburgh, which is why the decision to move the company just a block away to 429 Fourth Avenue was such a big deal. The new space was hardly move-in ready. It took serious renovations and Alicia’s keen eye for interior design to get the space up to Plummer Slade standards. Wanting to alert our clients to our new location as well as show off all of our hard-work, we decided to host two Open House events in July to spread the word.
On Tuesday, July 16th, we held our first Open House. We invited our fellow tenants in the Law & Finance Building, delivering invitations to every floor in the hopes of meeting each business. The event was a great opportunity to meet and mingle with our new neighbors, a few of whom were current clients. The brunch refreshments featured coffee, donuts, muffins, and bagels kindly donated by the Bruegger’s Bagels in our building. There were 65 people who passed through our doors, some who even returned for a second visit. It was wonderful to get to know the friendly faces we will be seeing in the elevators each morning and to hear all the compliments on the renovations done to the space.
On Wednesday, July 17th, we hosted our second Open House event. In preparation, we sent email invitations and our summer interns out walking around the city beforehand to delivery as many invitations as possible. The second Open House was the perfect opportunity to have nearby clients visit and get a feel for the location of the new office. The party started at 4:00pm and lasted until nearly 8:00pm. There was plenty of wine, and there were endless hors d’oeuvres for everyone to enjoy, as well as cookies and brownies for dessert to end the night. This Open House really was a special experience, as there are few opportunities for us to meet with so many of our clients at once in a professional, yet relaxed setting. Once again, the attendees were simply astounded with the beautiful renovations made to the office. Having those compliments flow so freely made all the work put in worthwhile.
It is with great pleasure that Plummer Slade has officially settled into our new office space. These events helped to make the new location feel that much closer to a permanent home. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the completion of this transition. We dearly missed those who could not attend the events, and we invite you to stop by if ever in the area.
